After Mercedes announced the S400 BlueHybrid, BMW announced that the Paris Motor Show will mark the debut of the BMW 7-Series ActiveHybrid Concept. The car is powered by a combination of an eight-cylinder gasoline engine and an electric motor developing 15 kW/20 hp and maximum torque of 210 Newton-metres/155 lb-ft as a mild hybrid concept. Electric power is generated by a particularly powerful variant of Brake Energy Regeneration already featured in BMW’s regular production cars. This allows the hybrid 7 Series to reduce fuel consumption and emissions by 15 percent. Of course, the concept gets all the luxurious features from its regular gasoline powered brother.
